What do i mean by Team ? your partner , friends , work-mates , community , family and Local School any group of folks who want to connect more deeply
WHY it helps Creativity ? we enter a FLOW STATE together (aka "being in the zone" together) where the principles are clear , but the destination is unknown where it's easy enough to be inclusive , but challenging enough to be fun where we begin to GET OUT OF OUR HEADS ... AND INTO OUR HEARTS its amazing for creativity
HOW? by using a handful of guiding principles and shared boundaries that create a safe/brave "Container" for the Space for example , to avoid interrupting each other adds to the mutual respect while using less words with more demonstration and less instruction makes it feel less Bossy , and more of an exploration your Team can take turns to lead and follow , by sharing simple movement and breathing exercises that the group already know .
What are the unique features ? most Wellness practices are either done alone or by following a Teacher who does ALL the Talking in a room full of strangers focused more on consumption rather than Co-Creation Moves & Breath is the opposite of this it's relational and participatory to create a shared experience together
is it serious or silly ? it's both serious and calm grounded relaxation is always the first step and as Hearts begin to open wider... something natural happens… Playfulness emerges. Not forced. Not artificial. Just real.
isn't that a contradiction ?? not at all , it's a Balance ... serious dedication (the responsible adult) and the joy of play (curious , expressive child) both are essential ... and when they come together something powerful happens
injury prevention ? presence and slowness are the best protection against injury so we have regular pauses to breathe and come back to our own awareness This helps you stay connected to your body, rather than getting distracted or pushing beyond your limits.
why is shared leadership important ?? in modern society , we tend to give our power away to the Teacher/Leader/Guru Yet we know that power, when concentrated in one place, can become imbalanced. (absolute power corrupts absolutely) and this power-imbalance can cause burn-out ... for both leaders and followers But with SHARED Leadership ... the weight of responsibility is distributed making it feel lighter , more human , and more inter-connected Everyone contributes . Everyone belongs .
how is it INCLUSIVE ? shared leadership allows us to split the group into Slow/Medium/High energy sub-groups so everyone can go at their own speed , while still feeling part of the whole everyone can share their own movements and expressive style ... so they feel seen and heard and valued
why you might have your doubts ? You may already understand shared leadership in other areas of life. But in a wellness context ... like yoga or movement spaces ... it can feel unfamiliar. You might even imagine it becoming chaotic. In reality, with clear guiding principles and a little practice, something else emerges: Trust. And it’s beautiful to watch that trust grow within a group. You gotta see it to believe it !
why is it special ? Giving someone your full attention is a form of love. Instead of directing all attention toward a single teacher, we share attention between the group and ourselves. Around 70% of the experience happens in silence ... making more space to listen deeply ... Not just to others ... but also the quieter voice within your own heart
